Avuvi Minhoudo

From the owner's application: Minhoudo (Lil Red) is a proportionate girl and overall small. She is the sister of Djodougbe. She is very attached to her people, her sister and other female dogs she grew up with and her pup. She was a great mom, and got very anxious when her first pup left home. She will appropriate the pups of another litter if the other bitch does not mind and even helps with butt hygiene. She is never cross with man or beast except when it comes to her puppies; then she will growl appropriately. She occasionally vocalizes and has a fine yodel.

She is affectionate, accepting of strangers, and even lets the vet have her way. Her owner calls her "little wiggle butt," which just makes her wiggle more. She is the dog who can be friends with every other dog. Like every African her owner has seen she is quick, alert, and sensitive and cases out new surroundings thoroughly, and like every basenji she can go from zero to 60 and back in a hurry.

Her coat is not as silky as her sister's and is very short. Her colors are well demarcated and she has a striking orange-red color. Although she has a lot of white she produced a very colored pup who has less white than either mom or dad. Her eyes are dark brown and smallish with almond shape. Her tail comes up when she alerts and curves over to nearly touch her back, and her puppies all have full tail curls.

Minhoudo was named in a ceremony in Benin and is Fon for "What do I have here?"
