Avuvi Djodougbe
“Tina”
From the owner's application: Djodougbe (Tina) is a relatively tall slim leggy girl although overall small. She is the sister of Minhoudo. She is very attached to her people, her sister and other female dogs she grew up with and her sister's pup. Seeing her curled up with her three best buddies and perhaps other dogs is charming. She will challenge other dogs if she feels they are in "her" territory but they have all gotten very bored with it because she never bites or follows through. One calming gesture and she trots away or gives it up.
She is affectionate and likes to be very close to her people night and day. She is accepting of strangers but not really outgoing and a little fearful. She has a broken baying voice for use in case of intruders; if the visitor stays she calms right down and does as she pleases. Her dam was extremely friendly for a village dog. Like every African her owner has seen she is quick, alert, and sensitive and cases out new surroundings thoroughly, and like every basenji she can go from zero to 60 and back in a hurry.
Her coat is unusually silky for being very short. Her colors are well demarcated. Her eyes are dark brown and smallish with almond shape. Her tail comes up when she alerts and is shaped like a question mark. She has pretty good wrinkle when alert.
Djodougbe was named in a ceremony in Benin and is Fon for "Always let God judge."
