Education

The BCOA's education program is organized as three colleges and an outreach effort. Each college is a home-study collection of articles, presentations, and reference material that has accumulated over the years. The goal is straightforward: preserve breed knowledge and pass it on to current and future owners, breeders, and judges.

College 1

For Owners

Living with a basenji. What to expect, how to raise a puppy that you can live with, and a coloring book for the kids. Start here if you have a basenji or are thinking about one.

College 2

For Breeders

The breed standard dissected, articles on the science and art of breeding, and a reading list. Aimed at current and future basenji breeders.

College 3

For Judges

Material for judges and judging applicants: the AKC standard, judges education presentations, study aids, and notes on examining the breed.

Outreach

Public Education

Material for fairs, classroom visits, and anyone curious about the breed. Run by the Public Education and Outreach Committee.
